On Sunday David reminded us that we are the living stones that make up God's church; and the church's foundation is Jesus, as it says in the hymn that is so fitting for the current preaching theme.
However this coming week we take a break from this theme, as Sue is leading the service and will talk on the study used at the Ladies Weekend last November. You might want to start warming up the voal chords now, as we will be blessed with music provided by Alex and Rebecca.
George and Margaret have completed their move to Chalfont St Peter, and we hope they will be able to relax now after the awful task of deciding what to keep, what to shed, and how to dispose of it. George has promised that they will travel to worship with us from time to time.
The proposed calendar of 2012 events has been circulated; anyone wishing to organise a "Coffee and ...." session, please step forward! Jenni and John have offered to host a summer cream tea at Dunsmore, and there is a suggestion that the energetic might like to combine that with a walk from Missenden to Coombe Hill; hopefully we will find a direct route from there to The Old Fox this time.
This year the local Women's World Day of Prayer will be held at our church on Friday, 2 March; also the related bible study on the preceding Friday evening. The WWDP theme this year is ‘Let Justice Prevail’, prepared by the women of Malaysia.
